Heroism and Hypocrisy: Celebrating Bravery While Undermining Democracy
President Trump honored Coast Guard rescue swimmer Scott Ruskan for saving 165 people during Texas flooding and awarded him the Legion of Merit during the State of the Union address. While recognizing true American heroism is vital, it is deeply concerning that such moments of unity are overshadowed by policies that threaten our democratic institutions and leave 60% of Americans feeling the nation is worse off.
