The Great Betrayal: How Public Funds for the Poor Are Being Diverted to Fund Deception
At least eight states, including Missouri, Ohio, Indiana, and Texas, are diverting millions of dollars from the federal Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program—funds intended to assist low-income families with basic necessities—to crisis pregnancy centers that often provide no medical care, withhold birth control, and are implicated in deceptive practices and financial mismanagement.
